Meet My Yorkie – Penny the Yorkshire Terrier – About Yorkies

My Yorkie is fairly large – 7kg – too fat since a friend looked after her whilst I was on holiday.

Anyhow, came home recently to find she’d managed to get into a tin of wrapped chocolates. She had chewed her way through the wrappers and eaten four of them but didn’t show many adverse signs – just a wee bit of soft poo and then as normal.

A couple of weeks before then, I left a small bag of fudge too easily available for her. She ate the lot overnight – around five pieces weighing approx 100g. The fudge was made with sweetened condensed milk, sugar, double cream & vanilla flavouring. Again, she didn’t show any adverse signs.

Unfortunately though, it means she’s developed a sweet tooth and now I try to be particularly vigilant about keeping all non-dog foods out of her reach.
