Question

My yorkie is 2 years old and has always loved me. Th past couple of weeks, he will not come near me…I am devestated!!! What would cause this sudden change of heart?? Help!!

Heartbroken Owner…

Answer

Some Yorkies can be very moody dogs πŸ™‚

It may not be that anything has actually happened, but rather that your Yorkie is having a grumpy time.

If the behavior continues for several months, it won’t hurt to get him checked out by a vet just to make sure there are no health issues, but nine times out of ten, the Yorkie is simply being moody and will come around eventually.

    Over attention?

Yorkies are a very smart breed and they will train you before you know it.

I have two male Yorkies, 2 years old. When they start snubbing me or “acting out” aka not listening, it is usually when I am giving them too much attention.

Don’t reward bad behavior, so I don’t advise trying to give them treats to get them to come to you, as they will start pouting all the time.

When I stop giving them as much attention and give them their space for awhile, they get curious and are back at my feet playing with their toys. πŸ™‚

Remember, everyone needs some alone time.
