My Little man

(Lancashire)

I got my yorkie Roger from a rescue sanctuary 12 years ago. He was aged between 3-5 when I got him.

I always called him a gent, as he was. He would follow me everywhere, but always behind me so I would not trip up, the same on the stairs.

My children called him the doctor, as I had a serious op and when I came home was ill for 9 months, but he was always by my side and only left me to get his food or to go to the toilet.

He knew my moods, and if I was upset he would sit by me and nudge me with his nose, just to let me know he was there and everything would be ok.

He loved his walks on the beach, but if anyone got too near me he would growl to protect me.
I got divorced 10 years ago, and had to go from working part time to full time.

He never messed in the house – even though he was not used to being left for so long.
He was always there when I got home with plenty of wag tails and kisses.

I met my new partner 8 yrs ago, I did tell him that my dog came first and if he didnt like him then he would have to go!

Thankfully they both got on well, and Roger loved him to pieces. 2 people to love and cuddle him.

Sadly Roger died last October aged between 15-17rs He had a mass in his stomach but would have been too old for an operation. I could not have put him through that. But you always think what if.

If i see a Yorkshire terrier now I cry… they all walk the same.
I miss my little man so much I ache

His collar is hanging on my bed, and I feel sometimes he is there with me.

    hugs to you!

i always cry when i read sad yorkie stories. I have 2 yorkies, actually 3 now. My girl had babies in january, and i have one left. If you lived in same town, i would let you have her. I know she could never take your rogers place, but would definately help fill the void.

    My deepest condolences.

I am so sorry for you loss. While losing a pet (or family member as they are at our home) is so difficult, the sadness will be replaced with happier memories as time heals your wound. I still miss every one of my babies that have gone to Rainbow Bridge but I do know that someday they will look over their shoulder and see me coming and we will be joined up together again as one big happy pack.

    I share your pain

Your story mirrors my own, Candy, I rescued her 14 years ago and she didn’t have a bad bone in her body.I lost her in April and the pain is a physical hurt. I know how you feel and my heart goes out to you.
