Rescue yorkie – Gibbs

My husband and I went to the local animal shelter to donate some dog food. We made the mistake of looking at the dogs and there was little Gibbs.

He is a 5 year old yorkie that was looking at us thru his bars. The note on his cage stated that the owner had turned him in due to the fact that the owner did not have time for him.

We already had two dogs that we had gotten from the shelter, but my husband was adamant that we needed to add Gibbs to the family.

It has been 4 months now and there are a lot of challenges with Gibbs. He is very aggressive and growls and bites at me.

He has to be reminded frequently who is in charge by a stern “No”. The biggest problem we are having is Gibbs peeing in the house.

Gibbs is the cutest little thing we have seen in a long time.

It seems that he has been starved for attention and wants to keep my husband all to himself, away from me and the other dogs.

We will work out our problems with Gibbs, may take a while.

In the end, we know that Gibbs will be a wonderful addition to the family.

    Good luck with Gibbs

You did the right thing to take a dog and donate food to a shelter and I hope you still do.I hope you and your other dogs work out your problems with Gibbs and that he thinks you won’t hurt his boy (or your husband)and he will let you get near him.I’m sure when he gets adjusted to you and going outside he will go outside and pee.I wish you the best of luck with him, hopefully he will adjust but I’m positive he will.
