concerned yorkie

Hi

I have a four year old miniature yorkie,my friend took hom for a walk for about an hour then later they went out for about 2 hours and then about 4 hours later went out again.

I know this is too much but didnt know how long they were out for, later that night I noticed he couldn’t jump up on my knee and had difficulty getting up the stairs.

I was wondering if he would be just exhausted so i have only took him out for short walks, he seems to be more lively but sleeping a lot.

I am concerned about him as he was fine before this happened

    Ligament strain

Hi I gave had a similar problem with my standard yorkie after he chased a bird. Our vet at the time said he had damaged the ligament and would need £3000 of treatment to fix it. Luckily I was a sports therapist and know if the ligament is severed the leg would hang as none of the medication the vet gave worked I decided to treat him myself for a leg strain.

This meant rest no walks for a few weeks, lifting him on and off the bed, sofa, my knee ect, gentle massage and it worked he is fine now. Really though tiny dogs cannot tolerate that much exercise. Good luck
